Make sure to check out this hilarious YouTube spoof created by the funny and charming, Diana. Thanks! :)
Free PSD Theme offers some really spectacular Photoshop website designs. I just used one of them as the base for a website I am working on. Really great work and detail in each one!

I recently discovered a company that has some really cool products. Specifically their most popular item - a truly innovational organizational device - called Grid It, is amazing! Check out their site, check out the Grid It, along with their awesome cases. P.S. I’ve already made a total of three purchases from them (2 Grid Its and an iPad bag).
I just found this alarm clock from ThinkGeek. My birthday is coming up in June so I may be posting a few of my favorite items from that site over the next few weeks ;)
One of my favorite websites just went public. Dribbble is a great resource for inspiration if you are a designer. There is lots of high quality work on there. Be sure to check it out.
So, the iPad has finally come out. Yes, I was one if those crazy apple fanboys who got up at 4:30am to wait in line at the Apple Store. During those four hours with other iPad thirsty apple fans, I learned a valuable lesson.
Apple did an amazing job turing what could have been a very boring wait into something much more – they turned it into an event. The manager came out bright and early to welcome us and thank us for coming. Then seven apple employees were sent out to to answer any questions about the iPad. They were just as excited for the device as we were and happily answered questions. They got everyone excited and talking about their favorite features. They handed out pastries and a drinks, pumped up the crowd and even sent all fifty employees screaming in a large mob to welcome us.
Then we all counted down as they dropped the curtains and let us have a peek inside the store. When it was finally time to go inside, they welcomed us cheering and clapping. Ok, what’s my point? Well, I could have slept in and gone at noon but I would have missed out on all the fun! This truly was more than a boring waiting line, it was an event. It was fun! I think more companies should take the hint from apple and starting asking how they can create memories and events, not just products. Hire magicians for plane rides? Outrageous costumes for dentists? The possibilities are endless! But what I am taking away from the night is this – Entertain people and make sure you are creating positive lasting memories.
I am writing this post from Caribou (one of my favorite places to work) with a cup of coconut chi tea latte next to me. After heading up here and grabbing my drink, the barista eyed my messenger bag on my shoulder. “Got lots of schoolwork to do?” she asked. I replied that I was here to get some work done. It’s early evening and I have a few projects I’m really excited to work on. She gave me a sad little smile and responded sarcastically with, “that’s got to be fun.” I was a little taken aback. Well yeah? It was going to be fun. Then I started thinking. When did this mentality of “work sucks” start? Was there ever an era where work was something that people actually looked forward to? It is, after all, what we spend most of our lives doing – that is, our “occupation” or work. Who says that this has to sucks? Why can’t it be something that we enjoy and is fun. I wish that people would make more of an effort to try and find a way to make money off of something that they love. Yes, it goes against everything that we, as a society, live by but life is too short to live it behind a desk, in my opinion…
The launch of the iPad is just days away and as you already know, I am really excited for it! The applications are going to awesome on this device and I wanted to write down a list of apps that I am looking forward to seeing. Some of these I know are already in production while others are a good chance for developers to get started on!
1) Remote Desktop - Although this was possible on the iPhone it was pointless with such a small screen. With a large screen, this will rock!
2) Designing - The iPad offers a perfect environment for all types of design apps that weren’t possible before. Wireframing, Digital Painting, etc, the list goes on and on.
3) Gaming - this was already amazing on the iPhone but I think that the iPad will really shine with a new set of tabletop games such as board games, puzzle and strategy.
4) Development - may not be for everyone, but I love the idea of being able to bring only my iPad to the coffee shop and working on simple HTML/CSS edits to websites. I would really like to see development apps like Coda, on the iPad.
5) Developers really pushed what people thought was possible for the iPhone, and I really hope to see that again on the iPad – apps that we can’t even imagine now.
